- "Melted" Fretboard, Top and Headstock (my own design) - Zebrawood, Wenge, Maple, Bubinga

- Dragonwood Body
- Yellowheart/Wenge/Walnut Neck
- MIDI / Piezo

Sounds great and plays like a dream too.

It's been 3 years, but worth the wait... will be nice to be actively playing a Conklin again.

Yikes!!!! I kinda have that weak-in-the-knees feeling right about now...fantastic, Jean.

Curious..

you obviously have many-a-ERBs.. but, i'm curious how low C# strings work for you .. i've seen many ERB-ers talk tthem down .. but few praise them.

I'm sure they work well for you, but I've never heard one before and don't have a opinion on them yet.

THe only use i could see for a low C# is for tapping a low b at the 10th fret.

or maybe... the brown tone...

I think that should be the nickname for this bass - The Brown Tone

hello Jean, lovely ERB

i play a 6 string tuned in fifths, and always play sitting (on chair or floor cushion), i have even taken my strap buttons off. i can't see any straplocks/buttons on this Conklin, will it stay that way? if so, good idea..

hey folks -

thanks for all the compliments everybody!

not sure if I'm covering all the questions here.

I have my own kind of double-strap system, so I asked Bill/Mike to leave off the recessed straplocks because I never use them... so there will be strap thingies on it soon.

the C# is great when I'm playing w/ the band. I don't use it too much for the solo music.

106 sounds about right. Hideous Claw is an 11-string, but I also have 1-string that wasn't listed.

The CD is looking like late August / September - it will be 12 solo pieces - 9 are recorded and the last 3 have some transitions to clean up - if by August 15 they aren't worked out - the album will just be shorter. :hmm:

As for MIDI stuff - a GR-33, Motif Rack, fully loaded Roland XV-5080, some EMU sound modules and a bunch of Software instruments in Logic.

For the Bass Bash in Denver, I'll be bringing Joust and this Conklin. Maybe the JP 12 too... depending on how much room Stew and I have left in the vehicle.
