Connecting studio monitors to TV and audio interface

Anyone know how I would go about connecting my audio interface and TV to studio monitors? Do I need something like a Mackie big knob? Connections from my TV shown in the photos. Audio interface is a zoom u22 with RCA outs. Haven't decided on monitors yet but probably would be XLR connection.

Nearly all studio monitors have more than one connection so you would need to use both, one of them with an adapter cable. You have to use one of the analog-outs of your AV-Receiver, 'cause the zoom interface doesn't have digital ins.

Mackie Big Knob (passive, 2x2) has two source inputs so theoretically yes, you could hook your TV and interface into it and switch between the two. I'd say that's your most elegant choice. I used to run a godawful Radio Shack switcher to do the same way back when. Ugly - and no volume control or mute on that beast!

You'd need RCA to 1/4" jacks to go from TV (Audio L/R in the diagram above) into the Big Knob. Your audio interface *should* have 1/4" outputs you can run right into the Big Knob and then to your monitors.
