Considering a Markbass 210 combo ... Thoughts?

I wouldn't use it with a really loud band in a big room and expect it to cope on its own. No 210 could do that (well, duh).

This is my one and only concern with this combo. I play with some hard-hitting drummers, and I couldn't get enough from a 2X10 to really keep up. It would have required an extension cab, which defeated the purpose of all-in-one and ease of load in/set up.

That being said, all the other positive comments about this combo are right on target. I wish this would have worked for me, but instead I had to bump it up to the CMD151P. A little heavier, no tiltback, but the same pure clean power and awesome EQ features.

If you go used you can save some serious coin on a CMD102P, but the older model has the LMII head with no post/pre EQ switch or DI output level control. If those are important to you, you'll need the newer second generation version with the LMIII head.

I highly recommend auditioning the combo with your drummer to see how it goes.

The CMD102 combo is the same as the LMKIII and the 102HF cab. You could have just added another 102HF and you'd have the same thing that you just ordered.

I'm not so sure about that...I think they are probably very close, but I the 102HF seems to be a slightly larger enclosure. I'm guessing (hoping, actually!) that it will provide more low end. Besides that, seeing as I wasn't satisfied with the performance of the CMD102 on its own, having a separate head and separate cabinets makes more sense to me.

You might be right, Mr.Lenny. I know my back won't miss it at 2am after a couple beer, hauling that heavy 2x10 up three flights of stairs;) But, I am keeping my Eden stuff just in case the Markbass experiment doesn't work out. Besides, it's nice to have a couple different rigs... But my back is rooting for the Markbass!

Am seriously considering a markbass 210 combo - the one that sells for $1150 - as my main bar rig. Currently I am using an Ampeg Pf500 and a 410 hlf. The sound is great but I love the portability of the markbass. Do you use one in a bar band setting? Amy pro and con feedback is appreciated. Also if you know of anyone selling one used, would love to hear about it. :)

I use a Markbass 210 at Golden Nugget Casino and Hardrock Casino in Atlantic City ,both have that amp as Backline. cuts through great stage volume no problem. Love it
