Considering a new amp

Hey,

I'm new here, so please don't hang me if I've posted this in the wrong place or something:),

The thing is, for a while now I've been considering renewing my amplifier and was wandering if any of you had any suggestions on what brands I might like or ought to at least give a try.

I have a budget of about 1900 dollars, but since I live in Iceland and most of the music stores here charge much more than in the U.S. my budget should be more like 1300.

I have tried some amps from Fender which I didn't like, i tried the Ampeg SVT1000 which i didn't like that much.

However, I love the MesaBoogie Walkabout and most of the MarkBass products I have tried.

The reason why I'm posting this is that this is a big investment for me and I don't want to buy an amplifier unless I'm sure it's the right one from me.

Yeah, and by the way, I love playing almost everything from jazz to metal to indie to classic rock.

Does your budget include a speaker cab or is it just for the head? I swear by my Markbass SA450, It's super clean which I like for most (95%) gigs - on the rare gig I have to do something a bit more "stressed out stack" sounding I dirty it up with either a Sansamp Bass Driver or, if I need even more filth, a Big Muff.

I play stuff from Swing/Blues, through Country, Roots/Reggae, to Rock 'n' Roll, Classic Rock, Funk, Lounge/Restaurant, etc., etc. and the MB can handle it all. I use either an Eden D210XLT or, if I need to shovel some air, a Warwick 411 Pro. If I had to I'd stack them together but I've never done a gig where I was allowed to kill audience members with sound pressure.

The budget if for the head and speaker cabinet, anyways I've tried the SA450 which I love, but the thing I really love from MarkBass is the R500 (I just love it's unique sound).

While I loved the low ends in the MarkBass products I just feel like I can do more with the Walkabout.

However, I might have to take one more trip to the dealerships and review them both again and hopefully try out some more stuff so more suggestions would be great:)

And yea, as Jimmy M said, I have to play through something and well to be honest my Fender Rumble just isn't doing it for me.
