Here’s some info on Jordan Scapinello. A bass playing Canadian with Italian name living in Sweden who makes beautiful bows :)

Both MrSidecar and walthaet have bought bows from him and appear very happy. Scapinello bows are well priced.

I also have a bow from Jordan, got it about 2 years ago and have not cared to look at another bow since!

I added McGill to the list at around 3k; his website says his bows start around 2300 USD.

If McGill does make the Marchand bows, maybe he uses factory frogs or somesuch to keep the cost down.

EDIT: Mr. McGill has informed us that he is not the maker of the "Marchand" bows.

I have one of Andrew McGill's bass bows. I paid 3000GBP for it, and I think it was a bargain. It's a wonderful bow and he's an excellent guy, very easy to deal with.

I might add that the only thing that I didn’t like about all the Scapinello bows I tried in the process of finding my bow, was that every single one I tried was up there with or better than anything else I have tried before. :-) I found all of his bows to be very powerful and perfectly balanced, which made choosing the right one very hard. I only managed to decide with the help of one other player’s ears and hands- but the bow I ended up buying is ieasily the one piece of gear I am most happy about and consider the best “deal”. I would have paid twice as much as what I paid for it.
