Continued trouble with Line6 XDT4 wireless transmitter

I've had the unit about a year. Ever since I got it, spinning the cable that plugs into the transmitter produces a crackling noise. Sometimes if I bump it, it makes a loud popping sound. I took it to authorized service some time ago but it was never really fixed. I have seen references here to the cable being crappy and would gladly buy a new one if I could be relatively sure it was the cable. The problem is that the cable seems fine. I can wiggle it and move it around and it's completely quiet. It's only when I spin the cable connector while plugged in that it makes noise. It seems like there's not a solid connection (or at least one that tolerates the movement). I'd appreciate any suggestions.
