Just wondering what exactly these controls do.
On my small practice it has a contour
And on my Eden Wt Pro it has an Enhance.
I've read somewhere that these are basically mid scoops is this true?
Anyone actually use these knobs and what are the uses for them.
    Thanks in advanced!

I have had Contour knobs and that's exactly what they did on mine. Mid Scoop. Not sure about enhance but probably the same.

I dislike Contour a lot, because I want a frowny face on my EQ, not a smiley.

It depends entirely on the amp, and what the specific designer had in mind.

Many are effectively mid cuts, but others do more things simultaneously as well as provide some interactive control.

They do create a mid scoop. This is sometimes desirable if you're a slapper or if you're trying to tune down a mid heavy cabinet. Caution is advised in overusing this function as it can eliminate your mid "voice". Sometimes more desirable at lower volume levels as well.

Have you ever tried using yours to hear what they do/offer for your tone? First hand experience will always Trump secondhand information.

And, if you have played with those controls but still can't figure out what they do, perhaps it is time for a visit with your neighborhood audiologist. ;)

Turned up, they mainly create amazing bedroom tones that wind up sounding like garbage in a live show mix.

That's because there isn't anything conclusive. There are generalities but there are a lot of exceptions too.

Why has nobody done a contour that works in a plus/minus fashion? Flat at noon, clockwise scoop and counterclockwise for frown?
Do you guys think this would be awesome?

Possibly. Depends on how it was implemented and what frequency gets chosen to be the mid center.

Of course. For those who use different cabs in various rooms, or have lots of backline gigs I think it could be so versatile.

Doesn't the Genzler Magellan 800 have something similar?

Those controls are often great for solos, but may get you lost in normal playing.

You mean just like the mid controls already provided on many amps?

It depends on how the function is executed, and how much is used (unless it's a switch). A little bit of some implementations might be very useful live, other implementations maybe not so much.

My GK combo has "contour". Yep..it's mid-scoop.

My Eden WTDI has "enhance". Still haven't figured out what that does...I don't hear any difference no matter where it's set at.

Check out the manual for each amp that has one of these controls. Some will scoop the midrange at a center frequency and then add high end along with low end. In some cases a small amount of use with a "Enhance/Contour" knob can allow you to sit better in the mix and actually hear yourself amongst your bandmates. Especially up against a midrangey guitar player - by taking some of your mids out, you can both hear each other better than before. Many people don't have success with this knob because they are using it FULL up and/or claiming "it's part of my sound man". So they set it and forget about it..

Mid scoop. Boosts lows, upper mids and highs while scooping the lower mids.
