Does anyone gig regularly with an AI Contra w/ 10' extension cabinet? If so, what are the benefits/drawback of this system versus a Clarus/Focus w/ 2x10 system? Hope this makes sense.

Double Bass Contra w/ 10' extension cabinet

I do. The clarus is only half the package - the other half is their speaker system. The benefit is you have a three way system. You could never get that type of sound out of a typical 2x10 designed for bass guitar.
I work this way all the time, using a New Yorker either alone, or with an Acme B-1, which is itself a full-range speaker, when I need more volume. I love the sound of the Acme B-1, but would also love to try one of the Flite 1-10 cabinets since they only weigh 15 pounds with just the low speaker. I use a Focus or a WW Ultra with a Schroeder 1212 for really loud or doubling gigs.
