convert 4 string bass bridge to 12 string bridge?

sorry if this is the wrong forum but i want to build a 12 string bass and can't find any parts online so can i convert a 4 string bass bridge to a 12 string bridge? same with the nut?

I would say it is physical impossible to fit 12 strings in the same space that 4 string basses normally have at the nut.
Just what were you thinking?
