Double Bass cool bass!

Wow! That's weird! Sounds really good though. I googled the name and found the bass on his website here.
I can't decide what is strangest, the tailpiece, the scroll, the F-holes, the neck joint, the FB shape...Oh man. Can anyone translate it for us? I really want to learn more, but my French vocabulary is limited to the topics of food and wine.

I played one of the Maggini's and the Gasparo in Brescia when I was there in 1981 with Pharoah Sanders, before they were resurrected. They were in sad shape at that time.
They were in very old trunks and the head of the music school where they were being hidden from a museum in Milan had to break the lock off of one to access it.
My late wife, Barbara and I heard the pounding from another room and wondered what was up.
They were unplayable at the time but I leaned over and kissed the upper bout of the Gasparo. They liked that. It was an honor for me.

This looks really cool.

I like the adjustable neck. It appears the neck angle, over stand, projection, and string height can all be adjusted by turning knobs. The way the tailpiece is mounted looks interesting. And changing the string height via neck, as opposed to via bridge brings a new relationship that seems sweet;
(higher string height with lower tension, lower string height with higher tension.)

And the possibility to swap out necks..

Nice.

How much are these going for?
