Mike Gordon (A tone discussion)

Thanks man! Welcome to the fold. Yeah sometimes I wonder if he was using roundwounds at certain points because of how poppy the slap tone is. Could be alot going on there like different eq for slap and such. Ive dialed it in quite a bit further in the last few weeks so sometime soon here ill post an update of where we're at. Cheers!
That tone from Europe '97 has got to be roundwounds which I think is why I love it so much. I've got a wt550, and have been a Warwick guy for a long time.. though always lusting for a modulus or g. Gould because of Mike; either one will be my next bass for sure, especially if I can trade my Alembic epic for one.

As far as Enhance goes. Weirdly, when I had a Warwick with EMG soapbars this knob made it sound good (but got completely lost, as we've observed). However my latest love is this limited edition Streamette bass that has nordstrand pickups. It sounds incredible as it is, but when I add enhance the bass just sounds like poopie. I always keep ~500hz cranked 2 or 3 notches but I'll have to crank it way up and try the enhance knob again.
