Do you have a lathe?

If so, endpins are a great starting point for experimentation and an outlet for your creative curiosity.

Keep at it and these early experiments may lead to something grand that you never anticipated.

My steel endpin rattled when I had it at standing height
So i cut it down and that worked for the rattle
But then it rattled at sitting height
So I picked these furniture ends from home depot and stuck the off cut from the steel one in them
Now no sitting rattle
Actually maybe a sound improvement too
Because the bass makes more contact with floor I can feel the floor vibrate with these on

You probably get some resonance from the wooden endpin itself.

There's a long-standing discussion about the sonic benefits of wooden endpins, aside from their "traditional" use from way-back-when. I'd tend to believe they make a difference.

Endpins have an effect on tone but I tend just stick with a solid steel pin which won’t slip.
