    Cool longhorn.

One of the bands before us tonight (well, Sat night, I‘m just getting ready to hit the sack).

I had to get a pic of it. I didn’t talk to him, but one of my buddies said the guy told him he got it in 1969.

    Just wanted to share.

That is a very cool looking bass. Looks to be a long scale. Most Longhorns that I've seen were short scale. I have short scale reissue with flats that I really do like.

Pretty sure that's a Hondo II. See the pbass pickup?

It is a Hondo, I had one for a while. It had a case of neck dive like no other bass I've ever owned.

It looks light enough, I'd probably just tie the strap to the headstock acoustic guitar style. That'd kill the neck dive.

Yeah, I guess it was a 70s/80s Hondo... so I guess he didn’t get it in ‘69.

I really wasn’t paying close-enough attention, but noticed the pickups later when I was going over the pics I uploaded from the gig.

I don’t know that much about the older/vintage stuff, I’m more new to this, but it was cool to see, and I think he was flattered that I came up to take pics.

He was up there taking pics of us later, so I felt good that I did that for him.

All-in-all a fun little concert, benefit for a good cause, and real close to home. :)

I had the hondo and quite liked it. Nice bass for the price. Did dive like a submarine though. :D

I bought one when they came out in the mid 80s, so no he didn't get the Hondo in 1969!
It was a nice bass, played it for years, sold it to a friend and may buy it back someday.
