1969 Hit Factory studios in New York City - Stooges bassist Dave Alexander during the recording of their first album. He knew the Asheton brothers before the Stooges formed in 1967, learning bass from scratch. Iggy fired him after the Goose Lake Festival in August 1970. Thereafter Dave never played in another band. he remained friends with his ex-bandmates until his passing from pulmonary edema in 1975. In 2010 he was posthumously inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with The Stooges.
