That Creem mag post brought back major early teenage memories, from when I was first discovering rock music beyond the Beach Boys (first band I was ever into) and AM radio. I used to ride my skateboard to a nearby Dart Drug, order a cheeseburger and coke at the old school lunch counter, then hang out at the magazine rack flipping through Creem and others. The had a record section too, so I'd go flipping through those as well. I distinctly remember seeing Kiss' Love Gun there when it came out, and for whatever reason, I remember seeing an album by Angel. This would have been around 1977/1978.

I work at a radio station as a PD/Bluegrass DJ. "Back in the day", as they say, I got a promo package from John McCuen, formerly of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, among other projects, for his release "Return to Dismal Swamp" project. There were several items in there, a Tshirt, a CD, and a couple of pictures. One of them was a picture of John in field at, probably, a bluegrass festival. He was with two other guys. The other two guys? Steve Martin and Jerry Garcia.
I wish I had that picture now.
