Highly doubtful. There’s a modern “SG” bass(a derivative of the EB series) amongst those, plus he never would have had those 70’s models with the single coil pickups and Telecaster style control plates, let alone an EB-2(and that one has a Grateful Dead dancing bear sticker on it). Two things that collection is missing is the original EB-0, which was shaped like a slab double cutaway Les Paul Jr and had banjo style tuners, and then the original “violin” bass, the EB-1.

Dave Gold of Gold Star Studios has passed away at 98yrs old, he was a genius with electronics, but hardly known today. he did his work quietly, behind the scenes, always with humility and an enormous heart. Dave (at left) with Stan.
Gold Star Recording Studios (also called Gold Star Studios) was renowned for its unique custom-designed and built recording equipment along with it specifically designed sound chambers as one of the most famous independent recording studios in Hollywood, operating from 1950 to 1984. Sonny & Cher, Frank Zappa, Buffalo Springfield, Bob Dylan, the Beach Boys, Herb Alpert, Iron Butterfly, the Ronettes (“Be My Baby”), the Crystals (“Da Doo Ron Ron”), the Righteous Brothers (“You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’”), were born there while Ike and Tina Turner's River Deep, Mountain High was considered by Phil to be his best effort. Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys also worked on their 1966 album Pet Sounds. The studio’s echo chambers and inventive Engineering enabled Wilson to pioneer techniques such as phasing and automatic double-tracking, reshaping the possibilities of studio production. legendary artists recorded at Gold Star as well, including Ritchie Valens (“Donna”), Eddie Cochran (“Summertime Blues”). Jimi Hendrix, Neil Young, and The Turtles.

Gold Star Recording Studios was founded by David S. Gold and Stan Ross in October 1950. The name was a combo of the two owners: (Dave) GOLD and STA(n) R(oss). equipment (designed and built by Gold) and its echo chambers (also designed and built by Gold), utilized heavily by producers. In the early 1960s, Phil Spector used Gold Star for nearly all of his "Wall of Sound" recordings. It was also used for many recordings by the Beach Boys, including portions of the Pet Sounds, "Good Vibrations" and recordings for Brian's aborted Smile project. Session groups like The Wrecking Crew, including Hal Blaine, Carol Kaye, and Barney Kessel, played on many sessions recorded here. Gold Star wasn't just a studio, it was a sonic cathedral. While Gold Star and Western Recorders used special rooms for the echo chambers, Del-Fi which was owned by Bob Keane had a empty water tank behind the building and that was the echo chamber. It's the sound heard on the Ventures records and the other artists that recorded for Del-Fi. Capitol built echo chambers designed by Les Paul under the parking lot. Sunset Sound also has an echo chamber, the building originally was a car repair shop and had a sloped floor which they retained to add an extra dimension to the sound.
''At first we were using a hallway as an echo chamber', Gold recalled. 'We would open a door at one end where the studio entrance was and we would put a microphone at the other end. And that was our echo chamber until '56 when we built the two echo chambers directly behind Studio A. I felt I had to come up with something so I experimented with all kinds of stuff – sprays and echo plates and the like – and they sounded fine for instruments but were never good enough for vocals.'' Gold Star was already a happening enterprise but it was the introduction of the echo chambers that really put it on the map. Built into an area of about 6.1m2, they were complementary trapezoids 5.5m in length, accessed by a series of tiny doors. They soon became the foundation of the sound for which the studios have been immortalized as Phil Spector's Wall of Sound.
Stan Ross; “Gold Star was built in 1950 and lasted to 1983 at 6252 Santa Monica Bl. until a fire destroyed the property. Gold Star was built for the songwriters. They were fun, wonderful people to be around: Jimmy Van Heusen, Sammy Fain, Sonny Burke, Don Robertson, Johnny Mercer, Jimmy McHugh, Frank Loesser, Dimitri Tiomkin. We did song demos, voice-over work, radio and TV jingles. I loved music, and I was a record buyer, and I know what I liked. If I’m going to buy a record, I want it to sound like this. So I made everything I got involved with like something I would buy. Our studio echo chamber gave it the wall of sound feel. Dave (Gold) built the equipment and echo chamber and personally hand-crafted the acoustical wall coating. We had so much fun with that echo chamber; it never sounded the same way twice. Gold Star brought a feeling, an emotional feeling. Gold Star was not a dead studio, but a live studio. The room was 30 X 40.”
The studio also became closely associated with ABC-TV’s influential 1960s rock show Shindig!, further cementing its cultural impact. Many recordings made there have since been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. By late 1983 studio work had really slowed down. Stan Ross was renting the building, so they removed all the equipment from it and shut down. The building was purchased and a few months later in 1984 it burned down but the echo chamber survived the fire. Stan went and destroyed it after because only he knew its secrets of its construction.
