Even if I were somehow in Zeppelin I don’t think I could have ever come up with putting a fireplace in an airplane. I really wonder whose idea that was.
I wondered about that. I figure it’s either fake or electric. You’d be hard pressed to make a real one with a chimney in an airplane. It’d be rather difficult to pressurize the cabin.

I’m certain it’s not functional. Just something they did because they could, it was the 70s after all, and they were top of the heap, as rock stars go, so why not?

Plus, it makes it feel more like home I suppose. Here’s Jones, with his wife on the Starship.
