Looks like he could be Bruce Lee's cousin.
Brilliant! I love it.I saw Peter Frampton at the Capitol Centre (Largo Maryland) in '77 (my first concert) and I have told the story to my kids, who are big Star Wars fans, of him inviting a "guest" on stage, and it was R2D2, and the crowd going nuts. To date I had found no evidence on the internet that it actually happened, and I was beginning to doubt my memory (I was 12 at the time). Thanks to a Facebook page about The Bayou (a legendary club in DC), and a post about the man who owned the lighting rig there in the 70s, I now have proof. I don't know the full story, but it seems he knew the Frampton crew, and was also a bit of a character, building robots and such. Best I can tell he built his own R2D2, and he and the Frampton crew played a prank on Peter at Madison Square Garden, where R2D2 brought out a guitar for Peter. Frampton enjoyed the gag so much, "R2" came on the road with him until a cease and desist order from Lucasfilm was received in the mail.
