Some of you may remember this place:

The Antenna Club, Memphis TN, 1980s.

I hear it's closed now. Back in the day I happened to be in the area, and me and my idiot buddies (the best kind of buddies) used to go to this place on weekends. I don't think I ever once arrived at this place sober, but I remember enough to recall that this looks about right. It was a dirty hole in the wall, and it was where you went when you wanted to see cool bands play. "Alternative rock" was still "college rock" in the 80s and it would be a few years yet before it would get air play in the mainstream, so this place was for the stuff you didn't get to hear on radio. They only served beer and soda IIRC, so we would bring in liquor bottles in paper bags like a bunch of hobos. The bass player from a pretty famous band threatened to kick my ass here once, which I find quite embarrassing since I love his playing and his band, but I deserved it since I was pretty stupid and had a big mouth that night. Lots of good times here, sad to hear it's gone now.

I first heard of her from her back up vocals in the Peter Gabriel song Don’t Give Up. Her original hit was a quirky song called Wuthering Heights.

Yes! This could have actually been the first time I heard Kate Bush as I remember this song and it preceded "So" by a year.

pink floyd is one of my fave bands of all time it was dave gilmour who got her noticed she has a lot of air play over here in the uk i've always loved her and her music

LOL you like to stir the pot, eh? But nah. Like I said, I like the guy and I am a fan of his playing and his band's music (they're still around, sort of), and I was the one asking for trouble because I was drunk and stupid. When he called me out on it I knew I was in the wrong so I owned up to it, shut my filthy pie hole, and let him get on with doing his job.
