Which MM Stingray, they are all good looking!

The pre-Special 3-bands are much too sizzly/zingy for me. I own several 2-bands, including a white Retro '70s, and they're all fantastic. The only thing I don't like about the Retro is its weight. I'm also a big Special fan. Each model is different, but I'd probably start with a Special. It has a wide pallet of tones and most examples are lighter. Retros are excellent if you crave vintage tones and don't mind a heavier bass. (Lighter Retros are out there, but most seem heavy.)
