Just an observation, I just got a bass with only a position marker at the 12th fret. Actually it's large and goes in between the 10th and 13th frets. It does have side markers.
I've never had an instrument without fretboard markers and was a little concerned about them not being there.
Turns out no problem can't tell they're not there for the most part. I guess I probably shoulda realised that beforehand that especially standing I can't really see them anyway but now I know for sure.
