That's more or less correct.

It's also important to note, I think, that both men were managing chronic pain.

I have an in law who was a recovering alcoholic and addict. She was clean and sober for some time. Her life was really improving. Then she had back surgery and went home with some pain meds.

She's now 50+ years old, looks more like 70+, and lives with her dad.

It's a problem that I'm not sure we have an answer to.

Got to meet Rod Stewart backstage in the early 80's before a concert. He could not have been more friendly. There was a rather large female in our group and Rod saddled up to her, whispered something in her ear, and she turned red and giggled like crazy. All the while he was kicking a soccer ball around.

Well, it was a Dr. Richard Hell and he was of course, a different person. This Doc knew of the famous Richard Hell and got a kick out of being confused for him.
