Cool rock n roll photos

2226-dee-dee-ramone.jpg

The magic of still photography: catch a person while they are changing expressions or something and it looks totally different than what is actually happening. News photographers have done this to public figures since fast photography was invented.
This reminds me of the "drunk" photo:

Someone says, "Smile!" So you smile and just happen to blink your eyes at the same time. In that split-second between your pre-smile expression and your full smile, your half-open eyes and mid-smile make you look drunk or high.:smug:

AUTOMATIC >
1883_Magazine_Automatic_3-scaled.jpg

"Comprised of Izzy Glaudini (synths, vocals), Lola Dompé (drums, vocals) and Halle Saxon (bass, vocals), the trio released their debut album, Signal, and have recently announced a European tour starting next February 2020. Even if post-punk isn’t your thing, it’s hard not to get drawn into Automatic’s compelling sound. Laced with hard-hitting bass, drums and cutting synths, their music tackles zeitgeisty millennial topics in spades."

"Automatic draws some inspiration from Punk (due to several factors including the fact that Lola Dompé’s father is none other than Daniel Ash of Bauhaus)"

I'd compare them musically to LeTigre with their infectious riffs and up-tempo beats making it difficult to remain in your seat :hyper:

Easily my fave photo I've seen of them so far :)

"Le Tigre (French for "The Tiger", pronounced /ləˈtiːɡrə/) were an American electronic rock band formed by Kathleen Hanna (formerly of Bikini Kill), Johanna Fateman and Sadie Benning in 1998 in New York City. Benning left in 2001 and was replaced by JD Samson for the rest of the group's existence. Le Tigre are known for their left-wing sociopolitical lyrics that often dealt with issues of feminism and the LGBT community. They mixed punk's directness and politics with playful samples, eclectic pop, and lo-fi electronics. The group also added multimedia and performance art elements to their live shows, which often featured support from like-minded acts such as The Need."

Early song that Automatic (^ above) makes me think of :)

Legendary Muppets bass player Floyd Pepper

Floyd and Animal on drums were a combination of Zep's JPJ and Bonham blended with the Ox and Moon as a rythym section force to be reckoned with, while Floyd also handled frequent vocal duties >

Tight! :bassist:

First time I've seen Floyd with a Gibson bass. The first pic he has his usual lefty Jazz. Proof that fat, fuzzy fingers are not an excuse for not playing sick bass.

Also, I never thought of it before, but "Electric Mayhem" would make a great stoner doom metal band name if it weren't already taken. Dr. Teeth should think about that.
