Howlin Wolf at the 1966 Newport Folk Festival. You can see bass player Andrew “Blueblood” McMahon's Ampeg B-15NF to the right of Wolf. I bet that EBO sounded pretty "woofy" through that thing.

I attended an outdoor performance by the Wolf. It was a very warm day at a race track, and the bands were on a trailer stage with three walls and a roof. The weather turned very bad. There was a torrential downpour that lasted about a half an hour, and a tornado passed within sight. Most of the audience including me just stood there getting drenched in the pouring down rain while the show went on rather than miss a moment of it. Some sought a little shelter in the grand stand, but I did not leave my spot about five feet away from Mr Burnett.
