KCMO Municiple Auditorium, 11/1/68. Hate to say it, but he was just kind of phoning it in, rallied his enthusiasm toward the end of the show. I don’t blame him, it was just another gig on a long tour, and the last time he was in Kansas City, he supposedly woke up in an alley, left behind by Little Richard. A lame band, Cat Mother, opened. Couldn’t wait for them to be fininshed. My third big concert.

Nope.... that's not David Brown on bass...... and the guy stage right with the 6 string ain't Carlos.

Hi Relsom! Welcome to the club! I know it feels good to lay down a good old fashioned “Nope”, and you may want to sit down for this, but you might be the 100th person that has corrected me for n this since 2017. I know it hurts to know you came in last place in the Nopelympics after working so hard for the gold, but naïveté can be a virtue! To think of the gumption I had when I so confidently eyed that drummer and thought “Hmm…Santana!”. Yikes! Luckily, I’ve learned many times over since then to think before I misidentify a drummer. I’ve had half of TB to remind me before you! So again, welcome to the club!
