Billy Lee Riley recorded hits for Sun Records including Flyin' Saucers Rock And Roll and Red Hot
it was a thing BITD, Elvis' drummer DJ Fontana famously had one. Charlie as in Watts
Free played the Mayfair Ballroom in Newcastle on 20th October 1972, the final gig on their Heartbreaker tour and it was to be the last UK date Free ever played. three days later they started recording the first tracks on the Heartbreaker album at Island studios.
In regards to the broken neck of Paul's guitar; Kossoff: "It's had its neck broken once. On the last gig with Free it went up about 20 feet and came down on it's head and I thought, boy - that was it! There's someone in London called Sam Li who does beautiful guitar work, and he put it back together and built it up from the fifth fret. It's just like it was before, beautiful."

I find it quite interesting, on the plus side it most likely never rips but on the other side of the coin you probably need to brush it out every once in a while!! All in all I like it!
Sam Li was the guy who refinished Chris Squire's bass in the early days. Sam seems to have been the go to guy for guitar repair in London in the 70's.
"Chris had his RM refinished by Sam Li in London and Chris mentions Sam "telling him off" for sticking wallpaper all over his bass which then had to be stripped before refinishing."
I bet Rawhide would sound great on these.

The Decemberists joined by Lin Manuel Miranda at Central Park recently. The band put music to an outtake from Hamilton about Ben Franklin. Great song--I'd link it here but there's lots of profanity. Available on Youtube.

that was one of those 'never forget where you were' moments the '60s were too full of.
for him tho I think it was best, we missed out on some gold but the '70s were not going to be kind.
The Who OTOH made the most out of the '70s before Moon cashed it in despite only a few LPs out, once they ditched Tommy they really took off with more sophisticated rockers thx to the Ox.
