Cool songs by mediocre bands

I've long believed that no matter how bad a band is, they all create one good song eventually. For years I'd been curious about Tom Morello's band from before Rage Against the Machine, called Lock Up. The truth is, there was a reason they weren't successful, but they did have a song called Half Man, Half Beast, and it was pretty good.



So, what singular good songs from not so good bands do you guys like? And let's try to avoid one hit wonders, so that we all might discover new music.

Don't speak about the majority of '70s bands that way! Except Yes, you can by all means make fun of Yes.

Classic rock bands all died miserable deaths in the 90's. Unfortunately for most of us, they did it in the recording studio. :***:
