correct position for strap button

Hi,
I wonder how to find the best posittion for back strap button on my new bass guitar that is a short single cut, kind of Telecaster bass. I guess the bass will be neck heavy and out-reaching also due to the cut. I have not experiment it yet as I don't want to drill it for trial and wonder if there is a way to check that out.

Just above the bridge, like this:

On an asymmetrical body like the Tobias, this actually shifts the center of gravity a little bit towards the player, which helps with neck dive. It also tends to keep the plane of the body perpendicular to the ground, preventing the top edge of the body from "rolling away" from the player.
