Cort B5?

Anyone have one of these basses? There is one for sale used for $500 with hardshell and I was wondering if this is a good price as ive never played a Cort before. What kind of sounds can you get from them and how well are they made? Also is this a good price for this bass? There seems to be nothing wrong with the bass, only some discolouration around the neck pickup with the owner anchored his thumb, but thats where I anchor mine so I would cover it up. it has a mahogany body with natural oil finish (not available anymore says the add) and a bare wenge neck as well. Im looking for a new bass without spending a fortune.

First of all, there's a dedicated Cort topic on the forums, you can talk directly to Cort owners: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=306646&page=6&highlight=cort
Second, Cort basses have a characteristic sound (or so it seems to me) - robust, present, I'd say somewhere between Ibanez and ESP (the Artisan & Action series), but not the same thing; they can be quite growly basses, most of them come with pretty versatile EQ and they're well crafted (considerig Cort makes basses for some famous brands, it's no surprise). Best advice (always is): go to the local music store and try one - then you'll know if Cort is for you, or not.
