I posted a pic of a Peavey Foundation I scored last week for a C-note but a month or so ago I scored this Cort bass for 50 bucks.I wanted a Curbow hopefully Blue but I dont see much about Cort bass's,I use 2 colored Hof Icons a LTD LesPaulish axe and a Jazz but have a neverending poster of backup but this Cort and Foundation are as good as anything I played costing 5 to 10 time as much I will upload a pic I know the guitar was a good score but what do you think of the bass itself I was pleased and liked it better than my last P bass

oh and in person it appears a little lighter brown than the pic and with the tort guard and gold hardware it was to good to pass by,these are not available to the public I spotlight a local music store on cable access and the owner became a good friend so besides instrument I get great PA and amplification
Not bad for 50 bucks. Good find. Corts seem to get bashed on here by the snobs, but they have been really nice basses in my experience. I've never had one that gave me any trouble. That's more than I can say for other brands. I think you got a nice find.
Who are these snobs I have heard about a few times?thank God they are not always putting in they're 2 cents.What makes them snobs? is it the superior talent?the expensive gear not getting used but collecting dust.I have no tolerance for snobs and to be honest it gives musicians a bad vibe.All the musicians I have met have been the best people.I have owned a bunch of different instruments and this bass was more of a favor than something I was gassin for but I did come to like it so I will challenge a snob to tell me what is wrong with Cort.And to the majority of bassist who are fine people rock on and enjoy the weekend and especially you Veterans who put it all on the line so the snobs cans look down on Cort and other decent instruments

I've got a Cort myself, and even though I keep it in a cheap gig bag and carry it on the bus and through all manner of daily hassle, it is almost always in tune when I take it out of the bag. A great workhorse for a great price IMO.

I have an older Cort P copy. Don't know if it's the same model as yours or not.
It's a really good bass, especially as it was given to me. i don't believe the knobs are original.
The body is plywood, but it sounds really good regardless. The neck is really nice. It's a one piece(neck and fretboard made from the same piece of wood). I think you got a steal for 50 smackers. Congrats!

To be honest Mr gitlvr it looks very similar but Im not sure of the materials on mine but it feels way to heavy to be plywood when I change strings I will further iit.I use this bass 5th out of 5 bass's but that is not a rap on the bass its just the way it is and I actually like the bass and in my younger days I would have loved this instrument even more Im just used to different instruments but this Cort is a fine one I stll want a blue Curbow though
What it's made of doesn't really matter, and that wasn't my point. It's a nice looking bass, and if you like it, you got a great deal on a good bass. I wasn't saying your bass was made of plywood, just commenting on mine.
By the way, plywood is heavy. Mine probably weighs 10 or 12 pounds. Mine has the black conductive paint in the cavities, so I could not tell it was plywood. It was by examining the neck pocket that I saw the layers of the plywood. And I don't care. The bass plays and sounds great. It is what it is.

Corts are extremely under-rated. The Fender 24-fretter was made out of the same Korean factory that made Corts back in the day, and Cort had a JB-type model that not only matched the 24-fretter feature-for-feature but added a few more (I think it had an active/passive switch among others) which Fender incorporated later on. All of these at almost half the price! Had I known that I would have bought one of them instead of the 24-fretter. Unfortunately, not many dealers carry Corts and I only found out about the Cort model through the website of a musical instruments store in Korea.
