Cort C4 Yamaha Rbx 374

I want to Justin Chancellor,Timmy C,Flea tones(close) direction of my budget.I know Rbx's tone is limited so look like i'm going to buy Cort.What do you guys suggest?

Well I have heard great things about Cort Artisan series, played a Cort action DLX at a second hand store, liked the design I have, action is low which I like but I would rather get a Cort C4 or B4, or maybe even A4, very nice basses they are.

I have both a Cort C4 and a RBX375. I love the C4, the bass itself and all hardware has a lot higher quality feel than the Yamaha, and it sounds really good stock. It's my go-to bass for RHCP songs. I'd vote for the Cort C4.

The Yamaha is ok, but the only reason I keep it is because it's the cheapest ok quality 5-string with 18mm+ string spacing that I could find in the area. I hated the preamp in it, sounded really muddy, so I removed all the electronics except the pickups and made a new passive setup. I've read several people on here has done the same and converted it to passive.

Does the C4 have frequent fretbuzz?

My C4 is an older Korean made Limited Edition from 2004 which is a bit different from current production ones though. I did have a Cort A5 earlier too. Neither had fretbuzz as long as I set them up properly. Once set up, the neck of both were very stable.

In this price range, I'd expect all basses to need a setup right out of the box, but that goes for Fender and more expensive basses too.
