I've played both and have a $$ at home. Trust me, you can get every sound the Stingray has got plus a whole load more thanks to each pickup having independant series/parallel/single switching plus a pickup blend pot. The Stingray is a great bass but the $$ is a monster, it really is, it eats Stingrays for lunchThe HH Stingray or the Sterling are both VERY flexible tone wise. i havent played a corvette so cant say if its more flexible, but they def have all the tonal range you would ever need.
