This guy on Craigslist is trying to sell me a fender 2006 marcus miller jazz bass...for $700 CANADIAN..so 600 U.S..could it be too real to be true? Or is this just an amazing deal

...And it looks like the plastic is still on the pickguard.
I've never understood why some people don't immediately remove these protective plastic coverings, especially from pickguards which have a tendency to off-gas & discolor when the protective plastic is left on too long.

At any rate, it looks like a smokin' good deal, even if the tuner paddles are pitting.

If someone were to fake a signature model, there are way, way easier models to fake. What's more, this isn't really an "in demand" model. From what I can see, it looks legit. I'd bet there's probably something wrong with it, but nothing that can't be fixed within the cost savings. Pounce on it like a starving cheetah on a gimpy goat.

Nope. I think that's the ceiling mirrored in the chrome. Made that same mistake with my own bass several times.

Read a story the other day of a guy who bought an Vampyre LTD for $200.

I'm always on the look for a good deal like that, but that's just a little heartless of the buyer I think.

If you can verify that it's not stolen and it's legit, buy it. Otherwise pass. Remember the guy last week that bought the Fender 'Custom Shop' for $500 only to get home and find out it was not - I think it was a parts bass with Mexican and Squier parts. He was lucky and got his money back, but I doubt that happens very often.

There are alot more intricate details on the MM basses, specially the 5 string, that are hard to fake. Grab it!
