Could use some Amp recommendations please

So I going to just throw this out there. If you wanted to be really efficient with $2k you could go a whole other route.

and 1 of these.
$2.1k and you’ll have a kick ass small pa when you need it, or 2 monitor wedges.
Lots of versatility.
Just throwing out some outside the box ideas.
That's what I run with my Kemper or HX Stomp for my bass, guitar, and pedal steel rig. It's proved itself to be highly useful over the years.

That said, if he needs air moving and pants flapping; it's not really a good choice for him.

If you need to be loud make sure you have a 2 ohm capable amp. GK Legacy and Fusion S, Mesa Subways and Bergantino. are there are others too (Well AI bit the company has closed and their preamps are too polite).

Surprised you cannot make a Rumble work. An 800 Rumble should be plenty if you get an extension. Vintage sounding? Joe Dart is thumpy and vintage sounding as can be and he sounds just fine with a Mark Bass.

I’ve got an Epifani UL902C listed in tj
I waqs just browsing in the classifieds and ran across this:

https://www.talkbass.com/threads/baer-apx210.1648516/

I used to have a pair of Baer 112s and they were probably the best sounding cabs that I ever owned. Bigger and more powerful than I needed so foolishly sold them. This would be a great cab for what you are describing, and for $900 delivered it is a great deal.

I have no affiliation with the seller at all - just know a good cabinet and deal when I see one. Only down side is that Baer cabs are not well known, it might be harder to sell if you needed to. But it should definitely check all your boxes, and at $900 you can easily pair it with a top-shelf amp (Mesa or Genzler or other) for under $2K.

That Baer is a great cab.
You can match it with my Epifani UL902C I’ve got in the classifieds.:smug: Sorry, couldn’t resist.

I heard a sweet Aguilar couple years ago, the guy was playing a Warwick thumb through it and it was sweet.

I went with the rumble 500 with the extended cab, primarily based on cost and I'm not unhappy with it... but after hearing that Aguilar I was stunned with the rich dripping tone. I'm still happy with the rumble 500 but... and Aguilar was something to behold.
