Crack on a maple fretboard...

Hey guys this is a bi-cut neck from an early G&L bass I'm considering buying.

I just wondered if that kind of crack is a real issue, and if a repair job is mandatory?

Is the neck after repair definitely going to be fragile in this area so tightening the truss rod will be a risky operation?

I would ask for the price of the repair to be reduced from the price and then see how it goes, if repaired with epoxy the repair will be stronger than the wood so no issues with the truss rod

Some people put a clamp on the first fret while tightening the rod as cheap insurance too, couldnt hurt.
