crack on fretboard

I wasn't really looking to get a Rick 4001, but there's one that poped up that may be good for the price, but theres a crack on the fretboard. The big question is will it affect the sound, how much to repair and how should it affect the value?

I would take a gamble, that it's not a crack. looks like some inadvertent accident, with the grain (lengthwise) is where you would see most splits. Notice the burn marks on the binding (brown edges), may have been a small power tool. I do not believe this will cause you any issues (judging from the pic).

Yep, it looks like it may have had an unfortunate encounter with a cymbal. That's a cut, not a crack. I'd go for it if I wanted a Rik.

no, a crack will not have anything to do with the sound, what so ever.

You could always get it patched or something, doubt it'll effect anything except value.

Nothing to worry about. Even if it DID affect the sound, I don't think a bat would hear the difference in such a small blemish.

I would go for it! My J-bass has taken a similar knock and it didn't affect the sound or feel at all.
