Double Bass Crack - Repair

I'm working with a cello repair person who puts the cleat on a magnet with some putty, the other side with the hide glue, gets it next to the desired spot and then flips it with the outside magnet. If I hadn't seen it, I would not have believed it. You have to work fast.

That's pretty snazzy. My hands are clever, but not that clever.

That's the technique I use. I don't think it's necessary in this case.

I do that, too, but its not as easy as it sounds. And it gets harder the farther away you are from your access point, too!

The bass looks good as shown in the 'After' photo.
