Cracked open SMORES - crisp outside, soft inside.

Heh, fair comment. I used 2x4 front to back bracing on 2 and 4 speaker cabs, placed in the center to reinforce the front baffle. Not important on a single 15" cab where there is no chance of that problem.

BTW: I admire your position with Mesa and Genz Benz, 2 of the best as I understand the current state of play. My knowledge is old now while you are at the cutting edge. More power to you my friend!
Cutting edge is where it's at, compared to products I designed 30 years ago, the new products are 1/2 the size, 1/2 the weight and ~2x the performance. Given these differences, it's pretty hard to even give away the really old stuff yet it remains a bargain to those who don't mind (or can live with) their limitations.

This is probably true of many of the higher end manufacturers these days, which makes it a great time to be a bass player or pro audio guy.
