Double Bass Cradle to hold bass while working on it?

Greetings All,

I'm wondering if any of you might have an ingenious solution you'd care to share on how to hold and secure the bass while performing simple set ups or adjustments/new strings, etc. I typically set my bass on the carpeted floor with support and the neck heel, but that kills my knees after awhile. I'd like to be able to set it up on a table (like a banquet table, 3x6 or so) with support for the neck and have it be locked down in some fashion. Any ideas?

Lay the bass on a foam pad or baby mattress. Ratchet strap over the lower belly.

When I had to change some strings last weekend, I remembered I own an adjustable/collapsible keyboard bench. The cushion was flat and large enough to provide support and reasonable stability.

Being an apartment dweller, I out mine on my bed. It's the only flat surface big enough.
