Pro Bass Player seeks Pay-to-Play gigs
I don't know about all you dudes/dudettes, but I'm ready to change the music industry. I mean REALLY change it. I mean it to a world where a quarter of a million dollar music education counts as much as another arts degree. Unlike the other chumps on craigslist, I'm willing to do what it take. So this experienced bass player is ExClUsIvElY looking for Pay-to-Play gigs. I'm really trying hard to get on the venues' good side. I'm willing to put up $200 PER SET to make sure the venue turns a profit and I expect any future band mates to do the same. If you currently have for-profit gigs lined up, I'd ask that you check if the venue would rather we turn the tables on them BEFORE contacting me. I'll only receive compensation for gigs if it's an out of state engagement and so long as the total compensation is less than my gas for one way. Upright and Electric bass in many styles! So if your band is looking to put its money where its mouth is, hit me up.
step 1: pay the bar money to play there
step 2: ??
step 3: profit
I live about an hour from Denver and yes, I saw that ad. Again, living an hour from Denver - that's all that need be said. Strange city. Strange city, indeed.

I have lived all over the country ... currently Colorado ... Denver doesn't hold a candle to the weirdness of other big cities ...
BUT WE TRY
Absolutely. It puts me in the mind of the manufacturer who cut prices until they lost money on every unit. But they made it up with volume. (That's a joke for the economic humor challenged.)Wow, got some gullible folks here. Either that or one very crazy dude on CL.
I suspect humor/sarcasm in the CL post.
Or pay to stop. There's already a thread about that, except it's about being a lousy bass player. Same idea, though. It could work, y'know. The terms ... playing for Money or playing for Exposure. If I don't get paid, I'll expose myself, then I'll get paid![]()
