Crate BT350

I can get a crate bt350 with a 4x10 (not sure on the brand) for $350 at my local shop. Is this a good deal? Also, although the reviews on harmony-central are all very good; on tb some owners seem to have trouble. If anyone has this amp and can give me some more info it would be appreciated.

i had a older black and white one , loved it ! and i used the chorus on it a lot . i really felt like it was a good slm era amp and had a little ampeg vibe in it . if i found another black and white one for a good price i would buy it . ive head to stay away from the next series graphic ones . those seem to be the ones with issues . hard to find a tube pre bass head in the sub 350 range . unless the cab is a berhinger , sounds like a good deal .

I've got the older black & white BT-350. it's a good sounding amp, it is an honest 350 watts into 4 ohms ... been using it lately with a berg NV425 ... I did at one time have an issue of it cutting out, but my tech fixed it, turned out to be some poor solder joints, haven't had any trouble since

I just picked up a b&w BT350 and Crate 15" cab for $200 last weekend. I'm going to open it up and clean all the connections and check it out over then next few days. The head sounds good, but the cab is just ok, but it was almost thrown in for free so I'm not gonna complain. I had the same head when they first came out and really loved it's sound. Always got complimented on my tone from other bassists when I played out with it.

If the head you're looking at is in good shape and it has a good cab, then the price doesn't sound bad. There was a used BT350 on Ebay for $400 last week. That seems really high to me tho. Never tried the green\grey heads so can't comment on those.

I've owned it for a few days now took it to practice monday and then played a gig with it wednesday. IT sounds great and so far im not having any trouble with it (it is the b&W version). However, it has taught me to appreciate lightweight rigs quite a bit more bt350+4x10=really heavy. Installing casters helped but having to carry it up and down the stairs to my apartment is a pain. But it sounds good so i can live with the weight.

I had a beat up BT-350 that I regret selling. I sold it way too cheap when I needed cash badly. They really do sound good and push a bit more than those rated 350 watts if you turn off the pesky limiter. A lot nicer to my ears than the SS Ampegs built in the same factory. Glad you like yours!
