Crazy idea or not? Using Four 2x10's

When I used to use 1, 2, or 4, Goliath jr.s I found that 1 4x10 actually packs more punch and volume. Two 2x10s stacks according to physics should project more but my experience is that the one 4x10 is much more. I think that the cabinet volume is more in the 4x10s than in the 2x10s by 2.
To me 2 2x10 sounded like a 2x10 + a 2x10. Not great.
YMMV and probably has.
I do make my vehicle choices based on gear. My buddy used to drive an old Camaro. When he went to buy a VW GTI he took his drumset to the dealership to be sure it would fit.
I'm a musician first and a driver second. (I love driving!)
As to your situation try the cabs if you can.
I saw a kid buy a mint Acoustic 360 for $500. then spend 45 min. trying to get it in a late model Nissan Maxima. It no fit see...."_
