Creating a Touring DI Pedalboard

I don't tour. I play at church in a 3-4 week on, 1-2 week off schedule. We do have a nice PA, and we all use IEM's with the Rolls boxes. I use Westone UM-2's. The JDI is a nice box. I'm debating trying a REDDI as I guess the sound with IEM's is really noticeable.

So I ended up just going with the tried and true Sansamp for my DI. I have it all put together on a pedaltrain mini, still working on fine tuning everything but so far its exactly what I hoped. The M87 and the Sansamp give me the tone I need into our PA, and I just parallel out to my amp so I can hear myself and the signal going through the PA sounds just fine so all a crappy sound guy has to do is bring me up to the right level.

Pictures to follow!

For several years my main pedalboard for arena-size church conference gigs has been something very similar, though I've found after trying several preamp/DI combos that a dedicated high-end DI is a good idea.

I've also found that the Tone Hammer pedal DI has worked very well for a clean DI and throughput on stage. Great sound and a pre/post-DI switch.

+1 for REDDI as well. I've used that for some great sound on stage and out front.

A couple other options for simplicity in the same price range:

Radial's Firefly 2-channel tube DI; and

RMI BassSwitch.

I have not used either one, but for what you are looking at spending, perhaps adding a wireless and comp to that with the option of two different loops might be something to consider.

Also, while I swear by my Line 6 G50 wireless, I am very interested in the SHURE GLXD-16 pedal wireless with tuner for smaller real estate, standard 9V power supply instead of high-draw 9V, integrated tuner, and RECHARGEABLE lithium battery claiming 16 hrs. Even if it was 10 hrs, recharging instead of going through AAs, or using rechargeable AAs that don't prompt an accurate Line 6 battery level reading could be VERY cool.

Just two cents...

Here it is. Simple, and to the point. I show up with just this and I am set for any gig.

Practicing with this straight into our PA this week, along with my guitarists running straight in from their Axe Fx. Then on the 27th we see how this works at a gig.

Anyone using the Firefly?

I have a REDDI and I love it but I am going to be starting to double between electric and UB and have been eyeing the Firefly since it has two inputs with drag control for impedance.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of experience with the Firefly on here and no one has offered a tone for tone comparison between it and the REDDI. I would like to know if anyone has experience with both.
