Crooked neck plate?

Well the picture in OP is definitely enhancing the issue. If you save it to photos and examine it on a grid, neither the plate or body is square.

Wow, ok folks. 0 to 60 much? Of course it's real. I wouldn't waste my time posting some bogus made up story. Created the thread to see if the slightly crooked plate would affect stability.

I took the picture as best I could centered. I should have got one at an angle I guess.
Here is the dealer picture. Judge for yourself.

It's not perfect but at least it doesn't like it's a reflection from a fun house of mirrors at a county fair.

The screws are aligned differently from the dealer pic and the OP pic. I'll continue with the suggestion that the plate screws need to be loosened, realign the plate and tighten.

You could be right. Maybe they took off the neck to adjust action and truss rod before shipping. Plate may have not been placed back correctly. Oh well. It's back off to dealer anyways. Case closed.

You could perhaps crack the knuckle by loosen the screws a quarter turn or less, starting with the inner pair first, then re-tighten them. The benefit is it can help to seat the neck in the pocket just a smidge better/tighter. It wouldn't hurt.

Among other things, some of y'all need a reminder about this:

if you have a negative opinion about an instrument, be sure to tie it to something beyond the subjective appearance - "the body was uncomfortable for me to play" or "the neck was too round for me, felt like a baseball bat".

otherwise, if you find something ugly, say so if such an opinion is asked for, otherwise keep it to yourself. this isn't rocket science, guys. respect other folks' instruments.
