Crossfire or Backline?

Really, it was off the hook. Like nothing I had heard before, And I've heard a few rigs in my time. And the guitar player in my regular band was playing next to me and hearing it too. It's ruined him. And he has a great sound.

This guy was using a boutique rig called a "Carr" amplifier. Point to point soldering, switchable pentode, etc. The model was called a "Rambler"
I can still hear it.

I think that my old boss had an amp just like that. He loved it, and it sounded fantastic. He was a great player, too, so that helped.

My band does a lot of shows with minimal PA backup, so we have generally adopted a crecent-shaped backline. That way we get a bit of both worlds: We can hear each other better, and we still get almost all of our amp sounds going out at the audience.

if that's with closed back guitar cabs that sound is going out to part of the audience, with a much different sound than what the guitar player believes it may be.
