Crossover for bass !

Hi,
This is my first post, so go easy on me LOL.
Soon I will start to build my bass cab (for my fretless) and the speaker is Legend BP102(1x10, 2X10 passive radiators), with bridged ART SLA1 power amp. Down the road I would like to add another small speaker- ACOUSTINATOR CX2008 for mids.
Question:
If I go separate channel for pickup into Legend and piezo into ACOUSTINATOR CX2008, what kind of crossover can I use to experiment with the sound and protect the speaker:
I know about electronic crossovers and loudspeakers management but is it an overkill? Is there a simple solution?

Lets say that I need a high pass 100hz for Acoustinator and 1500Hz low pass for Legend. Before or after the power amp?

The easiest way is with a rackmount active crossover, before the power amp. There are other solutions, but the hassle and expense IMO far exceed whatever other benefits there might be. Rackmount active crossovers are cheap and plentiful on Ebay, and they will do the job perfectly.

If you really don't want another RU of gear in the rack, consider buying a preamp that has a crossover built in. Ashly, Rane, Yamaha, and GK have all made pre's like that.

Did found Asley BP 41, Yamaha PB 1 and Roland SIP-301(perfect but BIG).
It has to be stereo !

Well, if a preamp has a crossover built in that means it has two outputs, one for the highs and one for the lows. But that's different from "stereo".

You found the right models for the Ashly and Yamaha. I don't recall the Rane model number. And I think most GK's include the bi-amp outputs, so check out any of their preamps.
