Crossover fuses/lamps? anyone know?

question: Will a perfectly fine cabinet work without it's lamps?

uhh I am a little bummed to hear this. My cab which has these (lamps/fuses) whatever in them took a dump on me. I have blown fuses in my 115rb.



if yes... i will assume my cabinet blew out as a result of me not keeping up with the condition of these lamps?

The bass speakers do not usually have a fuse in series however the tweeter usually does.
So you need to test the voice coil in the bass driver for continuity.

Is there a common expedient way to test continuity of the speaker? or am I limited to taking it to a shop?

in a 115rbh cabinet...

Will blown fuses in crossover panel make the subwoofer stop working? (the horns do work though)

I tried hooking up both 1/4" on full range and bi amp through speakon.

Those "fuse" lamps are for the horn only, they have no affect on the woofer at all.

Thanks for the info B...now I am just going to replace them and move away from this fuse theory I had. Although, I wish it was a stupid (inexpensive) thing to fix.

Is you cab out of warranty? A 1 1/2 volt battery touched to the speaker's terminals will tell you if the speaker is blown. The G-K store at www.gallien.com may have replacements avalible if you are out of warranty.

Sorry for the bad news But running the cab without the "fuses" will have no affect on the cab other than the horn not working.
