Crossover highs into full guitar rack setup?

Cleaned the pots on my Peavey's crossover and everything is looking good. I got to thinking, has anyone ran their highs into a fully configured guitar rack setup, ie, at least 1 preamp, 1 poweramp, 1 effects unit, that's midi switchable?

I need two more cables to try my own gear out, wondering what it would sound like to switch patches of effects on the highs and keep the constant low freq the same tone... definitely intrigued.

I am going to try running the Firebass 700 highs out to a ADA MP-1 preamp and a Marshall JMP-1, those go into a Mesa 50/50 tube poweramp, and I have it wired with a Rocktron Intellifex. I have the Rocktron Midi Mate to control it all, well the guitar portion. The cabinet for the guitar setup could either be a Mesa closed 2x12 or a Peavey XXX 412 cabinet, or both together. I live in an apartment right now... really would want to hook up all 4 cabinets I own just for the **** of it!!!! Don't want to get evicted though lol!

Also going to pick a signal splitter so I can run both preamps I think... >:)

Thoughts?

Can't help much with the midi control stuff, I do these kinds of things more the "old fashioned way", but yes, splitting your signal to a guitar rig on the high side can make some incredibly good sounds.

Also note, it takes much less power and speakers to make mids and highs loud than it does lows. You'll likely find that the 212 guitar cab alone is plenty to hang with a pretty formidable bass rig on the low aide. The 412 will likely stay home most of the time and you might like it better that way, as you'll then be able to push the guitar rig more and get some nice amp and speaker breakup out of it to lay on top the fat bass side.

Get it all together....it'll be fun. Watch the gain structure going into the guitar pre as the Peavey's crossover is likely operating at line level. No problem, just start with the knobs low until you get used to how things are going to react.
