I knew there had to be a good reason I hadn't seen that done.
I also considered large caps, but again size, cost and I don't think I have seen that done either.

One problem with large reactive components on the output is the potential for destructive release of stored energy in ways that are not good for the amp.

Might have a line on one for little/no money. I'm thinking of using it for a stereo bass rig. Not sure if it's worth the effort and what kind of cabs would be recommended for this.

IMO there are much better options available today that make the DC300 obsolete. I would have zero interest in one for any reason.

Agreed! I have an Alembic F2B / Crown DC300A II in the basement I no longer use. I picked up a Fender Rumble 150 off Craigslist for $60 and although I prefer the sound of the Alembic/Crown, it's not worth risking a hernia. My days of moving the old Alembic/Crown setup are over!

Yep, they still sound as good and work the same as they ever did.
The issue is that moving them is still just as hard, but way less needed
with modern, light weight choices.

My three 300s and one 150 do a great job of keeping my store room from blowing away.
