Crown xti2000 HELP!!!

I need a little help setting up my xti2000 in my rig if anyone has experience with these.

I'm running a david eden navigator through a the xti2000 into a eden nemesis 410 (for now) and I want to run the power amp bridged mono. I followed the steps that were shown in the manual but its still not functioning properly.

In bridged mono mode only the first channel knob should be functioning, however, both my knobs are controlling the output and the little "Y" symbol is showing up on the LCD. From what I understand the "Y" should not be there if I was running this properly. I can't seem to figure out how to disengage this feature and run it in the right way. Can anyone help me?

Your amp is not defective. It's just a weird design choice that Crown made. As was explained to me by their CS department, due to where the Y is in the signal chain, you must use a jumper from channel A to channel B if you want both attenuator knobs on the front of the amp to work independently. Like if you have two cabs of differing perceived volumes and you would like to balance them. This is what mine looks like from the rear. Screen on front will show Channel A & Channel B operational. DSP Off.

You could call their tech department. David Glass...1 800 342-6939 ext. 8146.

Edit: If you want to run in bridged mono it will look like this from the rear. The front panel screen will say Bridge. Only the Channel A attenuator will be operational. Hope this helps. :)

I'd look back in the manual or call service. If you program it correctly you can send an input to input one and run channel 1 to your cabinet.

I don't think you're looking for what's been described above. Which seems to want to take a mono signal and send it to both channels.

Looking at the manual is always excellent advice. The first pic in my post shows mono signal to two independent channels. You can not program this amp to take a mono input and send it out to left & right channels and control the two channels independently without a jumper. You can take a mono signal and have signal coming out of both channels...the catch is that both channels will be controlled equally by the channel A attenuator. That's OK if you're running two identical cabinets. Trust me, I've been down this road. :(:)

I'll probably just call tech support. I'm just looking to run bridged mono to one cabinet with a speakon to speakon with ch2 knob disengaged so only ch1 knob is controling the output to my cabinet. Eventually I'll be running to 2 different cabs but for now only 1. In the manual it says you will know that it is in this operating mode when ch2 knob does not function and the "Y" symbol is not present. Thanks for your help guys.

Gotcha! IME you will need a banana plug to Speakon to run in bridged mode as you describe. :crying:Don't be afraid to call David Glass at the number I posted above. He's very cool and informative.

BlowinBlue,
I do know that when I got my first power amp (a crown xls602) this was the case, I did need a banana cable to run it this way but from what I was told this isn't necessary with the xti2000 because you could program this function from the front of the amp. However, you could be right. I guess I'll just have to call in to find out for sure. Again, thanks for all your help.

Absolutely not neccessary I run an XTI bridged mono on a regular basis with a Speakon.

I wish I remembered how I programmed it but it was simple and is now saved so I haven't had to go back and do it since I set it up.

You are correct, Sir. To quote from the manual on the Bridge-Mono Mode setup page..."Connect the speaker across terminals 1+ and 2+ for the Channel 1 Speakon connector." This is in addition to the method using the center red banana terminals for bridged mode. Thanks for bringing this to our/my attention. :)
